There isn't one best lens for landscape. Of course, you can use a 50mm, or wider, or telephoto, or zoom, depending on what you are trying to achieve...the perspective and field of view you are looking for. Here is a good You Tube video that shows how different FL can be used for landscapes and how perspective and field of view can significantly change the image.

Great video, h2o! Thanks! It was eye opener!

Total surprise! I can't even remember what photos I've submitted to them, but I honestly am surprised that they'd choose this one for their fall issue; the leaves aren't even turning! I'm sure I submitted better fall photos than this!

Congrats, Sue!

Welcome to the forum, Karen. My beagle, Sydney at the end of a long day.

Thanks for the welcome, Rick. I relate to Sydney, especially after supper! LOL Love the pose. Reminds me of Abigail. These were taken with my cell phone. Was she trying to tell me something? Read the captions!

I don't have a dog, I have a cat. But here's my son's lovely Dogue de Bordeaux. Her name is Saphira.

Deb, love the name. What a little doll. Gotta love those eyes!

The one on the left is Tacchino (we call him Keno) and the angel on the right is PJ who was 11 1/2 when we lost him.

Sorry about your loss as well - what a beautiful girl! And special - she obviously had a great life with you and you can bet she knows it.

Thank you, Jimmy. The pictures below are of her quilt I made for her. She used it every night. I hung it up with her leash & attached her pictures, collar, harness, etc. It's right next to my bed.

Nice names. I especially like the name Keno. That's nice.

Abigail's quilt she used every night!

Bandit passed away 3wks ago (13yrs) with a sickness. Wife said we had to replace, him so we got ourselves a (9wk) old Yorkie puppy. Our first female, and little,i'll see if I can photo her and post next week. Barney is just short of 3yrs and is still a playful hand full.. We sure love our pets and they become family real quick..
Notice the red eyes, didn't do PP on this..

So sorry for you loss of Bandit. Barney is a real cutie! I can't wait to see the Yorkie puppy! What would we do without them? Especially after our children are grown & gone. Although a pet can't replace your child/children, they "are" something to love in between their visits! I'd be lost without my little Merry!

Welcome, Karen! You have one cute pooch, and I love your captions. You're going to feel right at home with the rest of us pet lovers. :-)

Dixiegirl, thank you! I already feel right at home. I love this site! Thank you! Merry is my little girl. Her full name is Merry Anna Randolf Custis Lee, after Robert E. Lee's wife. We spelled it Merry because we got her two days after Christmas last year. She's my little love.

Maybe we'll meet in person some day. I'm looking forward to it. It'll mean I'm close to the Grand Canyon. 8-)

Al, I so want to see the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley! Monument Valley first! I'm a big John Wayne fan...just wish his old movies of there had been in color. Wouldn't that have been fabulous?
