thank you
I was quite reticent about getting this lens(I am on a very tight budget, but I do not think I will regret it after this session...we'll see. It definitely has its place in with the L's.

Very nice shot being handheld. I own the Tamron 150-600 (the Sigma wasn't out yet when I bought it.) and I have been going after birds now and again. My success rate isn't as high as what I would like, but when I do it is great. I can only imagine the speed of the plane compared to a bird, outstanding job!

 best so far of this series

Thanks Didereaux. It is quickly becoming my favorite as well. I really like how the sun star wraps around the concrete column. I am glad that I hustled down the way to get that shot. It was a spur of the moment composition idea that paid off for me. Something that doesn't happen as often as I would like.

Awesome picture. What were your settings and what type of camera

This was taken with a Nikon D750 and a 24mm f/2.8 prime. I was shooting aperture priority and did a 7 image bracket with 1ev spacing. iso100 at f/14.

Actually is was only f/14. I love this 24mm f/2.8 prime.

Thanks! It was worth the wait, and worth rising at 4:30am this morning!

Been trying to get the right shot at this location now for a few weeks. Finally got a photo that was close to what I was envisioning. Taken with a D750 and 24mm prime.

I have that same lens for my D7100. It's excellent but macro can be a different world. The nice thing about it is you don't have to go anywhere to get nice photos - just wander around your yard. Keep practicing and experimenting and thanks for reminding me to use mine more.

You are correct Dennis, the possibilities are endless!

Excellent beginning. Practice and practice some more. Jeff

Thanks Jeff, I can see that I will need to practice quite a bit. But certainly can be a fun diversion.
