I ran across this little video. Pretty cool.

What a trip down memory lane...our kids will not recognize 75% of these iconic images!!!

Turn your sound on!

There have been lots of great raptor shots posted. These will be somewhat unique...to the Galapagos Islands.

In the first shot, I was focused on the right hawk when the left one came out of nowhere. I had no time to refocus and can only wish my f-stop had been higher.

The chances of replicating that one for another attempt are rather low. :-D

That third shot is very impressive with the wings up and his talons spread. I like all 3 of them but the last one really wowed me. Thanks for posting these. Beautiful.

Wow! What a nice shot. By the title, I had that old song running through my head so I figured it was going to be a super moon shot of the moon hanging from a black sky so I was not prepared for what I saw. The moon paired with the landscape was awesome. It has an air of mystery about it. There is a story out there somewhere that needs to be paired with your shot. I am a newby, so not an expert, but I know what I like and I loved your shot. Thanks.

Taken from the door of a Huey

I really enjoyed that shot. Like on of the other posters mentioned, I would not have the stomach (yeah different body part) to take a pic with the door open. But it gave you an awesome shot. I am originally from Louisville and my parents still live there so I had a double reason to enjoy it. Keep up the good work with the open door shots.

So I went to the shores of Lake Erie over the weekend to take some full moon pictures and the lighthouse. It was my first attempt at doing longer exposures at night. These pics where exposed anywhere from 4 to 10 seconds. I thought they turned out decent after I tweaked them in Lightroom. Though I will welcome gladly any critique and constructive criticism. I am always wanting to learn from my mistakes.

Thanks for looking.

I am not a pro either. In fact, I am a newby just learning. But I do like these 3 shots. It is hard for me to say which one I like the best because I like all 3. Whatever you did in shooting these, it worked well to my untrained eyes. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed them.

Even though I like #5, I have to go with #1 as my favorite because of the stance of the horse and the motion of his mane. They are all good, but those two are my favorites.

Welcome Papa2cool.

Glad to have you here. Get the camera out and start having fun and please post them on Ugly Hedgehog.

There are many great photographers here that are willing to educate us less skill photographers.

Thanks for the encouragement. That is what I am going to have to do I guess is quit being intimidated by the camera and just start using it. I also bought my wife an identical camera, but with a different lens, so we could both do this. She had expressed an interest in it several months ago and I bought her a Canon Rebel 300D and when I got it in my hands, I wanted one too. Can't wait to start learning and this looks like a great place to learn.

I am originally from Louisville but have lived in Madisonville in western Kentucky since 1980.

Hi everyone. I have been reading some of the posts in the forums for 2 or 3 days and decided to register. I am new to photography other than using some point and shoot cameras in the past. I recently bought a used Canon Rebel 300D with the 18 - 55mm lens and am excited about learning to use it. I am 60 years old and disabled and think photography could be a very relaxing and fun hobby for me to keep me out of trouble. I look forward to learning from all of you.
