Photographs, how old is the lens?

I bought it from B&H 5 years ago. It has served me very well and is very sharp copy, even with the 1.4 teleconverter. No issues what-so-ever.

It's beginning to be too much for me to lug around.

Check these two sources -- KEH AND MBP. B&H and Adorama also have used camera gear but the two I advised you to check have an easy-to-understand grading system and it is spot-on. If they show a piece of equipment as excellent, you can be assured it will be excellent or better. Use that as your guide. Consider those places are in business to make a profit and they have expenses in doing so. When you sell your equipment you do not have a storefront to maintain, employees to pay, or inventory to maintain. You do not offer a three to six-month warranty. Because of those factors, you cannot expect the same price they are charging. Depending on the condition of your gear you should expect to get between 15% to 25% less. Often they will have sales of 10% off which makes a reduction of 15% less attractive. If you want to move your equipment in a reasonable amount of time, list it for 20 or 25% less than KEH or MBP is listing it for. Here on the Hog is a good place to sell your gear. Most of the regulars here are honest and appreciate good equipment for a good price. Ask for payment through PayPal as this protects both the buyer and seller (use standard PayPal, not the friends and family). Good luck with your equipment sale and I wish you well. I'm sorry to hear the equipment is too heavy for you now and I hope you can find some that will allow you to continue your photographic pursuits.

Thank you very much. For now, anyway, I'm going to keep everything except the Sigma Sport 150-600. That thing is a beast.

I'm looking at compact, point and shoot type cameras with long range capabilities. Those tiny sensors scare the daylights out of me!

I asked about a price on the 24-70 2.8

Sorry - I've decided, "for now", to just stop using the Sigma 150-600 and keep the rest and continue to weigh my options.

OK guys - thanks for all the input but here's what I decided to do for the time being.

I'm going to see how long I can go without using the Sigma Sport 15-600. After all, it's a TANK.

I'll put my 1.4 tele on the 70-200 F/2.8 and crop away.

If anything changes, I'll be back.

Been in that area once.....for astronomy event up in far north central NE at Merritt Reservoir. I would love to get back to that area for a revival of my astrophotography efforts, which are currently non-existent, but also the cranes. Luckily, I get to see them all summer here in MI as there are dozens of mating pairs in the immediate vicinity. I love your photos.....catching them in flight is so much more rewarding than what I generally see......

We were hoping to see them on the river sandbars
