I believe numbers 8 and 11 are Cecropia moths from the Saturniid family. Also they are males as evidenced by the large, feathery antennae. Great job on the pics!

Beautiful shot!! I've been to Notre Dame about 7 or 8 times and never captured the requisite picture quite like this. Where we're you when you took the picture?

I'm trying to get better at macro/high-speed photography of water drops. I have a long way to go, but like this one. Fill my time anyway :)

I really think you did a fine job; could you share details on the lens, settings and other equipment you used? Awesome pictures!

I like boats, but even that bias aside, that looks awesome.

Thank you very much! :-)

I absolutely love the subject and love HDR photo. Did you take the original photo exposure, and then take one at -1 and +1 exposure? Did you put three images together to achieve this affect? Finally, did you do it in Photoshop or do you use a different program? So many questions! Thanks, Cheryl

I used Photomatix for the HDR manipulation and used only two exposures as opposed to the more standard 3 variations. Photomatix merged the 2 together to create the image I sent in to this forum and I manually manipulated the colors just a bit to make it more to my preference.

I agree and, actually, in the original photo the boat is left of center. The problem I had is that I'm new to HDR and "photo editing" and when I manipulated the files I lost a portion of the water all around the boat. I probably will go back to try again and see what happens. Thanks for the comment.

First attempt at HDR. Original photo: D90, ISO 200 at F11, 1/500. This is a bit more centered than I'd like; the original photo set has the boat more to the left of center. Any other comments much appreciated.
