I will try live view with my 5d using my camera cable tonite.

Go to best buy. I was able to get a camera connection cable for my iPad air. I think I pay about $30.00.

Hi I have a 40d too. A great camera. The sigma you found is for cropped cameras like the 40d, I think DC's are for the cropped sensors and the DG is for both FF and crops, you may want to backcheck me on that. You may want keep that in mind if you are thinking of upgrading to a FF.
