Thank you. I would have loved to do that, but the finch family moved on and we didn't see them again after that day. However, it's great to be able to record those fleeting moments that we never get a second chance to experience.
This photo was taken in my son's back yard in Joshua Tree, CA. The parent birds kept a watchful eye on me while I took this picture. Photo facts: Nikon D5100, lens 18-105 f3.5-5.6, fl 105mm, F8, 1/250 sec., auto ISO 100. Cropped and dynamic range adjusted in Photoshop Elements 12.1

Looks to me like the male is instructing the females on how to feed a hungry chick. LOL
You've captured the mystique of many interesting stories lost to history. It's a great photo!
Without fishermen like that, the Coast Guard wouldn't have anything to do.
Excellent shot and a beautiful find!
Desert camouflage?
BTW, I love your avatar.
I am a new forum member. I joined because this seems to be a great place to learn about photography. I think the weekly contest is great. It is a wonderful way to see what can be done with a camera. There are certainly quite a number of fine photos in this week's lineup.
One question though; re voting, can one vote for multiple photos each week, or should one narrow it down and chose just one per week?
Oh yes! One of my great joys as a young lad was to explore an old abandoned house or shed. There's something very fascinating about them.
