btw......can you give me any tips on shooting the norther lights in case they are out?

We are stopping in Skagway. I wanted to take an excursion to Haines becasue at that time of year they boast the largest concentration of Bald Eagles in the world, but had to pass it up becasue of time issues. But if I dont see any Eagles I AM NOT COMING HOME !!! lol. I do 7 days on the ship and 15 days on travel coach or train in hte interior (donations are welcome) ! Ill have to post some shots on this forum for you too see when I get back.

I'm a newbie to this forum as well. I am leaving for Alaska August 13 for a much needed vacation. Im doing the cruise thing, then getting off boat and touring interior. I cant wait !

I'm a newbie to the group. I shoot a Canon t4i with a Tamron 18/270mm 3.5 lens. I will shoot anything but people. I love old abandoned buildings, cars, farms, houses, etc.....
