If you mean you're not receiving the email (digest/newsletter), go to "my profile" at top of page. See "notification settings." Click the boxes again, if needed, to re-instate your delivery.

Please know that the newsletter is just a sampling of the hundreds of topics posted to UHH every day.

Whenever you're online or needing a UHH fix, just type in the website address, as you must have done to create this topic. Or bookmark it (make "favorite") in your browser for one-click navigation to this site.

Then use "newest topics" link at top of this page to browse to your heart's content. Be sure you're subscribed to all the sub-forums that may be of interest. To do that, go to bottom of page and click "all sections," then the subscribe button to any of interest.

Another hint: in May a new feature was instituted: "newest pictures." Activate it in "my profile" and you will see a link at top of page that shows thumbnails of photos on UHH, so you don't have to guess what a topic is about from its title.

If the tool isn't visible, hold down the Rectangle tool near the bottom of the toolbox.) Select a shape from the Custom Shape pop-up panel in the options bar. If you don't find a shape you want in the panel, click the arrow in the upper-right corner of the panel, and choose a different category of shapes.

Perfect! Thanks very much.

yes but how do you manual focus?

Can you slide the focusing ring back and forth? Try that, because that's how other Oly lenses work. Good luck! pah

I am petite and find that this camera with the pro lens quickly fatigues my neck so I am looking at something like the cotton carrier system...does anyone know of a carrier that is not as cumbersome since it is 4/3 camera??...I want to take the weight off my neck

JOBY makes a very interesting line of slings and straps. I use their wrist strap for my EM-1 and I've been very pleased with it.
(With this one, you can't accidentally drop the camera!) pah

Your replies were quick and very encouraging, and I thank you all for your help. If only cameras were as reliable as the advice available at UHH!

Greetings all:
I do love my Olympus EM-1 but it has reached the point where it's no longer reliable. Only about half my pictures even turn up in the display, and there are rear wheel issues, as well as other
problems. It's still under warranty, but I wonder if other EM-1 users can tell me anything about their experiences with factory repairs. Also, are there any other options? Many thanks in advance. pah

Hello. My planned travel to Rome and Athens received a lot of helpful tips on safety and photography. I am now asking for your recommendations on "Camera Travel Bags." I have been checking out "PacSafe" bags but the more I read the reviews, the more I think that they are made for women travelers. I have a Canon bag but I don't want to use it to advertise myself as a tourist carrying an expensive camera. I prefer a shoulder bag, not a backpack. Any suggestions from all the experienced travelers and photographers will be greatly appreciated.

AS for bags, I would definitely check LowePro's selection of sling bags .Now, as an annual denizen of Rome, it's a city where pickpocketing has
been elevated to a high art, particularly on buses. Carry money high and secure, and any kind of bag right in front of you with your hands shielding the sides. Pay particular attention on bus #64! Have a great trip!

I recently purchased a Canon Pixma Pro-100, and an delighted with my results on Canon Luster paper, both 8.5x11 & 13x19. Beautiful color match to my monitors. I am about to order a second unit for my editing PC. My printer is off-site, and connected to a different PC.

X-Rite ColorMunki Smile Color Calibration Solution has an excellent reputation.

First off, welcome to the UHH, your join date indicates you have only been with us a few months.

Yes, now would be a good time to upgrade to The Photoshop CC/Lightroom combo. For $10.00/month, which includes all updates/upgrades on both packages, this is really a very good deal.

As far as 'Cloud image editing', it doesn't work like that. All your pictures stay on your computer. Once you download the software, it stays on your computer. You can completely disconnect your computer from the internet for a month after
you install the software and it will work flawlessly. The ONLY time you need to be connected to the internet is when the software checks in with Adobe once a month to see if you have paid for the next month's subscription. And even if you decide to stop paying Adobe, your pictures are still on your computer and are still accessible to you. All that will happen is that the software will stop loading up. Invoking the term 'Cloud' for this concept is quite possibly, hands down, the stupidest marketing mistake Adobe has made in their entire history.
