I have a Polaroid 2.4 GHz Wireless Timer Remote Control with Interval Timer that has seen occasional use.

The damn thing has always been temperamental, but tonight I could not get it to work at all. Well, maybe once or twice using the receiver multifunction button...but never the handheld Transmitter. The pins on the receiver and Canon 7d M2 are fine. The units flash green to show sync and then red to show activated shutter....but the camera doesn’t respond.

They are paired, have new batteries and I did a reset to default settings. Still no luck.

I am completely flummoxed, and wondering if I should replace it vs hoping it works when I need it to. Tonight was the last chance, imo, to try a decent shot of Saturn and Jupiter. My back and the weather have not cooperated...and now the remote shutter isn’t either.

Any words of wisdom or thoughts on my issue?

I have a 7D and 5D, both manuals say the the camera must be in 2 or 10 sec. delay for a remote shutter. I assume the 7D M2 is the same. It will not hurt to try it.

A way to sort this out is, take the SSD and put it in one of your other systems that will take that type of drive. First see if you can assess the drive as a "D" drive, to make sue that the second hand information is correct. If you can not access the "D" drive, the drive maybe bad. Take one of your SSD drives and put it into the Dell, if your drive boots and loads, the Dell SSD is bad. If you can assess the "D" drive, make the SSD the boot drive and see if it will load on your system. If it boots on your system the Dell mother board is most likely bad. Other posts have suggested checking the BIOS and Boot Order, I assume you have done this and it is correct, you should see the drive listed. If it fails to boot and you can access the drive, the boot sector is missing this is easy to put back on the disk. You can find instructions online, I have done this a few times.

I am new to this forum. Something being overlooked in this discussion is the video output. Units designed for non US use use the PAL standard for video output while the US uses NTSC. Bottom line you can not show PAL video on a US TV. I ran into this when I was buying my Sony A77, The people at the shop did not understand the issue until I explained it to them. Sony has a different code on the label for non US goods, i.e. 50i, the US has 60i. US TVs sync video at 60 hertz, PAL at 50 hertz. I hope this helps.
