I am also old (79) retired guy. I just got back into woodworking after 20 years of inactivity. Spent to much on new tools (my wife thinks) I have decided to give photography another try (AE1 in 1972). I also have a canon a1400, love it. Will go with a bridge camera if I get better with canon. (assuming I live long enough). Bob Mac

Thanks for all the comments. I do think its my lack of imagination rather than the camera in getting good shots.I would have posed Marylayn Monroe siting in a chair rather than that pose of her skirt flying.

Hi I last took a picture back in 1973 with an AE1. Was not very good, once had my moter winder go crazy and shoot 36 shots of a tree. Even tried developing, not good either.
I am now approaching 80 and decided to try this digital stuff. Bought a canon A1400 point and shoot, love the little sucker but still take boring pictures. Question, should I step up to one of those bridge cameras Everybody mentions and are they that much better than my a1400. Its $61 for mine vs $400 for a bridge. Thanks for any help.
