Pool noodles work great too, just cut them in the lengths you want and then cut a slice along the length. You can get 4 or 5 from one pool noodle.

Enjoy your new gear. I love your dachshund. We have a 12 1/2 year old female smooth red tweenie. She has ears like your doxie, but sometimes Scarlett's ears stand straight up like a Chihuahua's. What's his/her name?

MardD, her name is Foxy. She is a joy and rules our house. Haha. It is hard to get a good shot of her.

The photo might be better if you shoot at eye level of your pet. Great gears that you acquired.?Early symptom of GAS????

You are totally right!! I should have taken it from a lower position. And yes, it was an epic GAS attack!! Feeling really guilty. My husband is good with it though and I have a part time job and I use my income to pay for my purchases.

Hi all. Hope everyone is having better weather. I live in Middle Tennessee and have been stuck at home because of icy roads for a week or so. I have been shooting with a Canon 6D and a 24-105L kit lens. I decided to upgrade my walk-around lens so I sold my 24-105 and another lens and couldn't wait for better weather to head in to Nashville to shop for a new lens. I decided on the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 and brought it home. I love it but quickly found out I also needed a longer range lens. The next day I was back to Nashville and was able to get a great deal on a Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM and also a Canon 5D MKiii. I am iin love with this camera and both lenses. I am a little intimidated with the 5D MKiii but hopefully I will learn to use all the great features. Here is a shot I took of my dog with the 70-200L. Just one of the first trial shots, hand-held, SOOC except for image resizing. Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated. I want to thank you all for contributing on this great forum. I have learned so much from you all.

I recently bought a camera and an extra lens. Sent in the rebate forms and received my American Express card in about 2 weeks. Really fast compared to other companies I have dealt with.

Whoo Hoo!! I just received my American Express prepaid card from Canon for $250. I just mailed the form in about two weeks ago. If any of you have purchased a lens lately, you should go to Canon USA's website and check for the promotion. It is certain lenses, and camera kits. I just went to the Canon website and typed rebates in the search box. Worth checking out.

I use an OpTech too. Love it, it is much more comfortable than the manufacture's strap that came with my camera.

Boberic, my husband used to sit at the kitchen table and clean his shotgun when our daughter's dates came to pick her up. LOL

There is a way that a link can be created so that people can simply click on a link from an e-mail and view all the photos (100) in one of my photo folders. I tried doing this using Picasa but was unsuccessful.
I know this can be done because some friends do a lot of traveling and take hundreds of photos and then we, as viewers, can simply click on this generated link and see all of their photos.
Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks, FiddleMaker

FiddleMaker, have you looked into Flickr? You can upload pictures to that and either set it for public or friends.

PBS, I just got my new 6D on Friday. I agree with you, the sharpness of the shots is amazing. I have only taken a few shots around the house, but I really love it. I haven't tried the wifi yet but I will give it a try. Good luck with your new camera.

I am so excited!! Just got outside to try out the new 6D and I am in love!!! I am starting out simple. Just took a few shots around the house, not anything spectacular but I love the sharpness of this camera and lenses. I say lenses plural because I also purchased the Canon 70 - 300mm ef f/4-5.6 IS USM also. I was having buyers remorse and considering returning the 70 - 300 until I tried it on the camera. I am in love with this lens!! I am posting two pictures of my dog that I took. One from each lens. Just quick shots, not great composition, and both hand-held and SOOC.

Taken with the 70-300mm

Taken with 24-105
