I was just patient and let it all unfold. I had to recalibrate one of my monitors for color (ColorMunki) after the upgrade but no other adjustments.
I'm an early adopter so I upgraded 2 machines to Win 10 Pro yesterday. So far no issues and all of my programs are running as they're supposed to. The new interface is taking a little bit to get used to but I'm managing just fine. Go for it now and you'll be happy you did.
I use Smugmug and have for quite some time. It works great for me for just sharing galleries and some marketing. I belong to an active club and my newsletter editor pulls photos that I take from Smugmug and uses them for the newsletter and it works great for that. I'm very happy with them.
I use Costco for all of my small stuff - much cheaper and easier than doing it myself. Larger prints (up to 16x20) I do myself on my Epson SP4880 which I dearly love and it produces beautiful prints.
I just did the download and it took only about 3 minutes but, then again, I'm lucky and have a really fast Comcast connection. The file extraction took longer than the download.
A great camera and equipment does not a photographer make. Great photographs come from the photographer's eye and being able to capture the moment. That comes from experience. Get a list of photos that the client would like to have, follow it to the tee and try to use your eye to be a little creative after the basics are done. Your camera will only record what you, as the photographer, want it to. Best of luck and welcome to the world of making people happy with your talents.
