Choosing a digital storage protocol, such as JPEG, raw or otherwise, is a choice akin to selecting an emulsion in the days of film. There is no right or wrong. You choose what works for you under the circumstances.
Beautiful landscape of the Welsh countryside. Is that the River Dyfi pictured?

Elliott,
Great set. Nice to see you back in operation. Stay safe!
Joe,
These are awesome. Great job!
Mike,
Baloney is a trooper. He looks like our little Penny, a Border Terrier. Great buddy you have there!
Joe,
Your photos are always such great examples of patterns and textures. You do it so well!
Jo,
So sorry to hear about your Carson. What an absolutely adorable Yorkie. I know you are devastated, but think about the wonderful life you gave him. I am sure he loved every minute he spent in your company.

Superb image. Excellent detail!
Very nice series of photos. This particular dam design has two main purposes. First, it reduces the dangerous hydraulic current in a typical low-head damn. Second, because it uses multiple low-flow spillways, it greatly increases the oxygenation of the water. This improves the aquatic habitat greatly as evidenced by the very good fishing environment downstream. Thanks for sharing these photos.
Reuss,
Very nice capture. Very easy to see the sunspots. The predication for Solar Cycle 25 is for maximum to occur around July of 2025 and the strength to be approximately equal to the previous cycle. For we amateur radio operators, we were hoping for a somewhat more active cycle to promote better HF (high frequency) propagation, which is very dependent on ionospheric stimulation. Already, the HF bands are more active now with more frequent long distance (DX) contacts.
A number of years back, I managed to talk with another ham on VHF, normally limited to line of sight contact, from southeastern Pennsylvania to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (over 700 miles) during an auroral event which caused the 2-meter radio signal to be refracted. Always amazing to witness the effects of auroras. The only negative to that rare form of propagation is that the audio warbles somewhat but is still intelligible.
Thank you for a great picture!
Jon,
Great shot! This picture captures the comet in scale and conveys the uniqueness of these visitors. It is more representative than all of the tight shots we see.
Thanks for sharing…
Although I was Navy aircrew, my deck friends explained coiling lines like this is called a Flemish Flake. It decreases wear of the lines and if you walk on it you are unlikely to trip… largely a safety measure and always looks much neater.
Love it. The wait was worth it!
