I have a Kodak EasyShare DX6490 w/10xzoom lens that I don't need any more. Does anyone know what it is worth or would it make a better donation to someone? Thanks for any info provided.
Thanks I will check these out.
Fixing to buy me a Nikon d3200 on Black Friday. Just wondering if anyone knows of any online photography classes that would be good for a beginner with this kind of a camera.
Still watching, learning, and taking it all in. Taking lots of notes. Thanks again.
After Christmas a "used" lens may be more practical for me. This is her last year so I really don't want to invest too much. I am also big on landscape, flowers, and sunsets too. I am sure I will enjoy all of it. I have had a little experience with my 35mm Canon AE1 and its zoom lens also. So it's not all greek to me.
The camera does come with a 55-200mm f4-5.6G IF-ED lens. The gym that plan on taking some of the pictures is very well lighted (better than a lot of gyms). I usually sit on the bottom or 2nd row very close to the floor. Would the 55mm 1.8 lens that was mentioned by a few be better?
Reading all of the different answers and ideas has really been interesting. I have always been the type to research everything before I jump in and I am really enjoying this. It is making me really anxious and excited to getting the camera purchased and getting started. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to give me advise. My wife says I am like a kid waiting on Christmas Eve for Santa.
I am one of those persons who knows that the photographer is in control but I do want some advise before I buy to make sure that I am getting a decent camera for what I would like to be able to do.
And thank all of you for the welcome. I will probably be spending a lot of time on this site.
I appreciate so much all of the info. I have been looking at several of the Basic Photography links on this website that some you recommended. I don't believe that there is a photography store anywhere close besides in Memphis which is 100 miles from here.
That is very helpful. Thanks
It states ISO Sensitivity at 100-6400 Hi-1 (ISO 12,800) and Auto ISO at 100-6400
Included lens are AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens and AF-S DX VR Zoom NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED. Will either one of those be ok? Not sure what all of that means. Planning on buying the Nikkon for Dummies book that someone mentioned on this forum.
That's what I wanted to hear. Thank you. Think I'll call it a night.
I just wanted to make sure that this camera is capable of taking those kind of shots before I spent $600. Thanks.
