Thank you all for your wonderful and informative comments. I will mind my manners and print a few of these for the farmer.

I enjoyed studying these, can't fault them as photographs but thinking of "composition" the ones that worked for me only showed parts of the structure, two i particular. I am trying to work on composition myself, most of my barn shots tend to be like the first two of your series; a good record but nothing more. From your wording I wondered if you were on a club outing maybe? Thanks for several shots of the one subject, best wishes, Andrew.

No, not a club outing. Just me taking some time to myself. There are lots of barns in my area that i would like to shoot.

ALWAYS ask first. Farmers are, in general, good people who appreciate good manners and are angered by poor manners and don't like trespassers.
Problem these days is even the good people are scared to death of getting sued by someone who gets injured on the property.
They don't want to be forced to sell OFF the farm to pay civil penalties awarded by some idiot jury.
The photos are GREAT. Imagine if you'd been able to get up closer or INSIDE! What a magnificent barn!

i know you are right, Kota. I forgot my manners.

The second photo seems to have the shadow of a church behind you. Is that right?

Just maybe make the wire that's holding Santa fit more snugly over the hook.

I saw your moon but was really interested in your profile pic of the Black lab ? I have one of my own that was a shelter dog and helped me recover from a bad back injury.

Labs are the best! Mine is 7 years young and a real pussycat. A real couch potato. So gentle yet so protective...

Guess what happens on January 15th at approximately 9pm on the east coast? I'm going for a time lapse of the horizon. I will be using my 7100 with a 35mm 1.8g.

Anyone else care to call their shot?

Let's see some updates!

OK - I'll bite. What happens on January 15 at 9pm?
