Those are lovely photos. The light is especially gorgeous and I think you achieved what you were trying to do.

I have an old Tilt-all that I have packed in checked luggage. It set off their bells and whistles early on in the TSA thing so now they search my luggage every time I fly. No big deal, they always leave a polite note telling me why. I just wish I could learn to pack as well as they do.

Some years ago I bought a used Tilt-All tripod with a tilt/pan head. I'm pretty sure it's older than I am. I've used the bejeezus out of it for the last 25 years and it shows a lot of wear but no weakness. Every now and then I read one of the threads on tripods, or see a particularly sexy tripod in the field and I think perhaps I ought to replace it, but you know, it's never let me down and although it may not eliminate all camera movement in windy conditions it's way better than hand held. I think I'll stick with it for a while.

Cades Cove. It takes a while to get around it at that time of the year but it's well worth it. The autumn scenery is some of the best I've ever seen and I'm from the Catskills. There are historic buildings along the route and at the end of the loop is an old mill and several barns and a house that are wonderful. Have a great time!

Wow! Those are great Linda. I particularly like #1, the composition is unusual enough to really set it apart. Thanks for posting them.

Really nice series. I dislike the overcooked HDR so much that I've never tried the technique, but these make me wonder if I should play with it a bit. They merit viewing in download where the streetcar shot in particular is really wonderful. Vaguely (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong and spell check was just like WTF? Whatev) reminiscent of an Edward Hopper painting somehow. Anyway, thanks for posting them.

Nice shot. I'd love to see what's inside that building.

Great series, thanks! Are the third and fourth shots of a current (modern?) operation or were they taken at a historic site?
