My home and auto is with State Farm. I'm going to give my agent a call and check on it. Thanks for the tip.

I have both 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.4 for my d 7100 and I use both from time to time. I would keep both since you already have them.

I posted a question about the best SD card for the D7100 a few days ago, and there were a lot of different opinions about the write speed of the camera, some saying the 95 mb/s card would be faster, some saying I wouldn't see any difference once the write speed of the card exceeded 30 mb/s

I decided to order the 95 mb/s cards anyway, worst that could happen would be I had 2 more high quality cards. They arrived today, so I decided to test them.

The test: I set the camera to manual mode, manual focus to avoid any camera delays. Shot bursts of 16 shots in high speed burst mode, RAW, and timed it with a stopwatch from the first shot until the buffer light cleared for shot 16. Each test was done 5 times and the times averaged, with 4 tests done: Two cards in, both cards writing (card 2 as backup) with both 95/mb/s cards, same test with both 45 mb/s cards, one 95 mb/s card in, and one 45 mb/s card in.
Here are the results:

Cards tested:
(2) Sandisk Extreme class 10 45/mbs
and
(2) Sandisk Extreme Pro class 10 95 mb/s

1. Two Extreme Pro 95 mb/s cards: average time 13.08 seconds
2. Two Extreme 45 mb/s cards: average time 23.18 seconds
3. One Extreme Pro 95 mb/s card: average time 9.95 seconds
4. One Extreme 45 mb/s card: average time 12.40 seconds

So, there you go, in case your interested as I was. I always use 2 cards with slot 2 as backup, and I was using the 45 mb/s cards - when I want max speed I will change card 2 to overflow only and I have switched to the 95 mb/s card, still not a D4s but going from 23.18 seconds for 16 shots to 9.95 is VERY noticeable...

I also use the d7100. Good info. Thanks for sharing.

Agree with all. I couldn't get any new USA data to come up. Still trying.
Just gives a general Idea.

Among the major brands, I doubt there has been a real lemon. Management might think so because of poor sales but that's different. Most complaints come from people who bought cameras for the wrong reason: it didn't perform the way they expected for their work. That is not the camera's fault but the misapprehension of the photographer.

Never tried it. Might now out of curiosity. I have a MacBook Pro and d 7100.

I keep reading that canon and nikon have produced a few lemons over the years but I haven't a clue which ones they are. There are other companies too so don't feel you have to stick to the big 2.

I'd like to know why they are so bad and because it's not a particular brand is not a valid reason.

It would be nice to get to know what camera bodies to avoid , lenses too. Lets try to keep it civil and not personal.

This issue, civil, here, lol

A lot depends if it was sold by Amazon or if it's coming from another seller of which Amazon has no control. I've been buying from Amazon for at least 5-6 years without the first shipping issue. Twice they have allowed me to return items (camera and a lens) past the 30 day return period and they paid the return shipping and no re-stocking fee.

Their customer service has always responded quickly to me whether it's by phone or e-mail.

The only time I had a delay in shipping was with an item not sold by Amazon and even then it was about a week.

It's just like all electronics (tv's, cell phones, etc). The day you buy something electronic, that's the day it starts to be obsolete. I still have a Sony Bravia 60" tv and the picture is super. My Mackbook is going on 3 years old and still serves me well.

I will continue to use my d7100 until it no longer is able to do the job for which I bought it in the first place. Won't get wrapped up in chasing technology. As long as your camera gets the pic you want, why would you change?

Agreed. Assumed it was downloading and wasn't familiar with shooting with LR.
