Thanks Bob, I really do appreciate you taking the time to help. I am taking goobs of photos using different settings just to see what I can do . We have 3 butterfly bushes and they are usually plenty of the little fellows around them so I will try taking some more and follow your advice to see if I can get close to the great shots you posted here. Thanks again and Semper Fi. Ken
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have only had my camera for about 3 months and am trying to learn how best to use it. All of your comments are appreciated. By-the-way, the butterfly was feeding and its wings were caught on the down stroke.
This was taken with a Canon Rebel T-3 75-300

My question has to do with Photoshop pp. Am I overdoing pp? This was shot in Raw and converted to JPEG. I am just learning to work with layers and would appreciate any advise.
Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome.
Thanks David, and Semper Fi brother.
Hi neighbor, I have a brother that lives just outside of Forest City. Right now I have a Canon Rebel T-3 which is an adequate camera for learning DSLR photography. I would very much enjoy meeting with others who have the same interests and learning from them before investing in more equipment. Ken.
Thanks my friend, I am also taking an on-line course offered by our local community college, and really enjoying this new found hobby.
Hello all, I'm Ken . I have been using point and shoot cameras a long time but have just recently bought a DSLR and am enjoying all of the discussions here, I can see I have a lot to learn.
I tried that site for noiseware that JR1 mentioned but my anti-virus protection jumped up and down warning about it being an infected site, so beware..
