MWAC, In january you posted this list, perhaps you need a refresher since the above post started all this mess. Number 25 is a good place to start.

http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-21720-1.html

I went back and read some of your prior posts, seems like you have started a few of these nice threads that cause problems. Do you like the attention or the drama??

And the statement you made in this thread about someone giving English Wolf a hard time, looks like by reading your threads you are the one that got him kicked off.

One last observation, I don't know how many times you have posted you were leaving the forum, do you do that just to have members beg you to stay?

There are some really great people on this forum and for the most part I have enjoyed participating but rants like this thread happen too often and ruin the forum for others. Based on the posts by new members I would not be surprised if many new ones have left.
br MWAC, In january you posted this list, perhaps... (show quote)

English Wolf was not kicked off this forum, he left months after him and I had words about him deciding it was ok to question the looks of my child and my parenting. If you look back after EW and I had our disagreement we never spoke to eachother again (and if we did it was one or two word sentences). He left months after. But nice try, trying to put the blame no me.

I will tell anyone here how I feel, it's a well known fact that I do not hide behind PMs, if I have a issue with what you are saying I will say it here for all to see. No misunderstanding me.

When have a chastise newbie?

Personally, I've grown tried of the crap that is allowed to happen on this forum, I'm tried of the way members turn on each other and form a mob mentality and go for the throat. I find it almost commical that they accuse me of being "un-giving" yet I'm most likely one of the most giving here. Sadly that will stop, as I have already told some members privately I will be spending the more time on a paid membership site where photography is taken a little more seriously, where there are more seasoned professional photographers that are willing to help me grow and more newbies who are looking to learn. I've cleared out my pictures, removed some tutorials, turned over the people forum to someone else. Really I will only be here to check on a few friends I have made that haven't made the jump over to another forum, if I haven't received their email address.

I'm more interested in the trail against Joe Arpaio in federal court for racial profiling, that coincidentally starts this week.

Not knowing your goal, IMHO , I would have tried an angle to get both heads clear of one another- but not to far away. I like the amount of body and might PP with clarity/contrast slightly to make them pop a little ( in Lightroom ) but love their expressions. From snapshot to portrait is not a long journey! Best of luck in your endeavors.

Thank you, SouthernExposures. I appreciate the suggestions and will put them to use. You, to me, is what UHH is all about.......learning from those more knowledgeable and experienced.

Not to be a stickler but by not venturing out of the daily challenge thread where all you hear is praise, you are doing yourself NO favours and cutting yourself short by missing out on learning or growing as a photographer. If people would have told me that pictures of my children with green tints to their skin were "amazing" and "awesome" I would never have had the drive to learn anything outside of shooting on full auto and using actions at full strength.

I hope you all have a wonderful time dragging this thread back to the top in order to express you views on my views, what a load of poopycock. I'm always amazed at how quickly people will turn on someone just to be part of a group.

sorry that I offended so many people by telling someone to a: purchase one from etsy or b: learn to make one himself. I stand by what I said and I ment every word of it. You can take it or leave it. Bash me all you want for it, doesn't really bug me to much, but just know you're only proving a point (bandwagon jumpers) and you are not changing my mind.

Have a wonderful life UHH members, I hope you get out of it whatever you put into it.

Grandpa, it's a nice group of people, you should have no issues at all (I never have).

I'm sure I will not have any issues. I hope you still continue to post and also provide your excellant tutorials.

Yes MWAC please continue with your tutorials...MANY will appreciate your sharing....

I'm sorry for the time being I will not be posting tutorials or images, I will be spending more time on another forum. I will continue to check in here as I have made some great friends that I love to keep in contact with, but for growth and photography related issues I will be posting else where.

I would assume a professional print means that it was printed at a pro lab. I sell professional prints to my clients, and would never consider printing at home and trying to peddle my prints as professional.

There are labs out there that offer great quality prints and you don't have to be a professional to use. Mpix is one of them.

ding, ding, ding, ding.. we have a winner. The professionals I know personally that sell prints (most do) have their prints printed at professional quailty print labs (not walmart, costco, walgreens) and take pride in a top knotch quailty item. They simply letting their clients know that pay attention to every detail, including print quality.

Do you work for free? cause that is what you are asking someone to do. I know it took me more than a couple of hours to come up with Mine and I was only dealing with myself and had a pretty good idea of what I wanted.

There is a lot more to designing a watermark than you think.

In the time you have been complaining about "working" for free you could have done the simple task he asked for. Besides what else do you have to do? seems to me that all you do is post sarcastic S%^t on here all day every day and guess what your not getting paid to do that now are you!!!

So expressing my views are not allowed, got it, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Posting all day? Bahhhhaaaa there are members here who have been here a shorter period of time than me and have over 13,000 post. I have less than 5,000 and the majority of those were from when the forum was new and we had less than 200 members, so good try.

And all the poop I post, I guess that would be the tutorials, lessons and help I offer members who send me pm's asking me to look at their images as well as posting my own asking for C&C.

Love your 13 posts here and on a thread bashing English Wolf, seems you only come it of the wood work to troll and bash members.

Have a great night, love all the wonderful members here. Hahahahahah

well, well, well... some people on this forum are almost comical, almost.

As I said before. I could give a rat's ass if you like me or not, I don't like some members here either. But I'm sorry there is a huge difference in thinking that every man, woman and child should have access to basic health care needs and some 17 year old wanting a free watermark and refusing to do the work himself.

If you can't see the difference, it really doesn't shock me, it just kind of helps explain why the US is in the trouble it is. And your refusal to let photography issues and policial differences lay on the way side, shows more about your character than you most like wanted to show.

So be it but he didn't refuse to do it but only asked if someone could with no threats, demands or claim to being entitled to other's work for free. It isn't a matter of liking you or not. I have no opinion as I don't know you. Others claim you have helped many and I too have seen the same. I took exception to your lecturing him and stated why.

No you went on a personal attack by bring my views on health care reform and politics into a photography discussion, it was uncalled for and unrelated on so many levels. If you can not see the difference between a watermark and making sure people have access to low cost if not free health care in this country then that says a lot not only about yourself but sadly I fear the country as a whole. I'm sorry, I lost any respect I might have had for you when you crossed political beliefs and ideals with this discussion.

ok here's an idea, why don't you all design a watermark for the OP and let him have them all. That is how I feel, sorry. Don't like it then that's fine with me, no skin off my back. You don't have to like me, or like my views on anything, personally I don't agree with many people on this forum.

I find it more than a little ironic that the same voice(s) who pleads the case for people receiving things from the government for "free" raises such a stink when someone asks for help for free. All of a sudden they are concerned about people working for free? There is a big difference too that makes the raised hackles even worse. The government uses force to collect taxes (from people's work) to pay for these freebies. The OP cannot use force so if someone helped it was from free volition not threat or force.

Still chuckling over the irony. Made my week.

By the way, if someone wants a watermark I will make one if it is within the skill set I have. I used to make "sigs" - hundreds of them over a period of few years - for many people in a couple of car forums. I will not consider my work to be free but a chance to build my watermark portfolio which I will leverage to my advantage down the road for a profit. :-D

Pm requests and I'll let you know if I can help
I find it more than a little ironic that the same ... (show quote)

ya thinking all people should be entitled to good and free (or low cost) healthcare in a nation that prides it's self on family values, totally relates to asking someone to make a watermark for free. bahhhahhhhhh... you people are amazing.

I know you have one already but I did this in illustrator and PS quite quick. You can choose the best one that fits your needs.

You would open your image in PS then open the water mark png in PS select all, on the watermark and choose copy. Return to your image and paste as a new layer. Use free transform whilst holding shift key (restraining the constraints) to resize the watermark layer to fill accross centre of image and then bring the opacity of the watermark layer down as that it does not obscure the view of the image but is there if people wanted to rip it.

Remember a watermark should be subtle and not interupt peoples viewing.

IMPORTANT! Save as a layered tiff or psd file 1st then save as a flattened jpeg for uploading. Keep the original or the tiff incase you want to remove the watermark later.

I uploded with the store original option so that you can download it for your needs.

To the rest of the people who dissed Josh, then if a guy can't spend 10 minutes to help a fellow hogg what is this forum about. I bet some of you spend longer than this discussing Critique.

This was very nice of you to do for the kid mafadecay. Very thoughtful to include instructions on how to use.

For the rest of you that assumed the kid was just trying to get work done for free - shame on you! He was simply asking a favor. Since when is it not right to ask a favor of someone. Since when is it not ok to offer help for free. Jeeze! I call it kindness. I call what you do 'selfish'! If you don't want to help, just refrain from saying anything. Next time maybe you can tutor or provide a step by step instruction or a link to youtube on how to do it. I thought this site was a place to get help - not a place to be called lazy stupid or a bum looking for a handout.
