Hooded Warbler at John Heinz NWR on 5/9/2016. I am posting this photograph not for its quality but because it is a photographic first for me.

This warbler was extremely cooperative but the light was very challenging,. I am very surprised that I was even able to capture this shot of this active little bird hand-holding an unstabilized lens at 1/80

Where did you take the picture? Lots of Palm Warblers here in Florida in winter but they clear out fast even before spring.

South East Pennsylvania - they migrate through here. In fact a few may even stay over summer I am not sure

Short-billed Dowitcher in Raymonds Pool at Bombay Hook NWR.
The flat overcast light does not show the full splendor of their beautiful plumage

Hate those overcast days but your warbler is a beauty. They're difficult to capture since they never sit still.

Thanks Debbie

Lesser Yellowlegs spooked by a juvenile eagle at Bombay Hook NWR. I often cursed the two immature bald eagles that seem to enjoy flushing all the water fowl at Raymond Pool particularly when the shorebirds fly off and disappeared. In this case I saw the eagle approaching so was ready to take this shot when this yellowlegs was flushed
