This is a bird I have been after for a long time, they are notoriously elusive and always perched on high branches.

Got this beauty yesterday, thrilled!!

I sat in wait of him, having seen him visit this tree a few days ago. I waited for 3 days before he showed. When he did, he made a spectacular entrance.

Enjoy!!

Gear:

Nikon 7100

Nikkor 80~400 G VRII

All hand held, practically no PP.

You may also call the library of congress anytime you use a more famos photo or paragraph out of a book, poem, or change a song or even use it somehow to benefit. I know there is a time limit on copy rights on some items.

Copy right release form on the internet. You may charge your client money to release your photo's to them. Then no longer yours to use for anything.

I am finally at a place where I can upgrade from my D3100 and was looking on ebay. There is a seller named "getitdigital" that is offering a bundle with a D7000 (it is advertised as Nikon USA). Has anyone had any dealings with this group and what are your experiences? Thank you for all comments.

Here's another tip: Learn how to set your camera to "Single-point auto focus" for photos like this and especially portraits! Aim for the eyes!

Thank you so much and I really appreciate that you give me any feed back. Willing to learn. Have a great day.

Hi Ms Vicki, Yeah, Isolating your subject and getting it to "pop" can be a challenge. Of course the most important thing is to have good focus. Your dragon fly is a little soft. I like the camera angle but you do need to watch your background. In this case the subject is brightly lit so an ideal background would be dark or muted. The dragon fly is a bright spot amongst other bright spots. One more comment if I might, If you had composed the photo with the subject in the lower left you would have eliminated the blurry flower currently occupying that spot and added visual interest by offsetting the main subject matter(rule of thirds). I offer these suggestions hoping they are constructive and informative, please accept them in the spirit they are offered.

Very nice pictures but you will probably get more comments on your photo if you upload and check in the (store original) so we can see a more detailed view.

Nice photos though.

I might should have used a filter in these. Or not. I do not have a lot of time to take photo's and more like a hit and miss with learning about the camera. Will be taking a 3 day soon just to shoot. Lilly's are beautiful.

A little blury for me

I used Auto for this and my 55-300 lens no filter. I have took better photo's like this with a lesser camera. The dragon fly does not show up like I wanted. Thanks
