Speak to your doctor about the efficacy of the beta blocker "propranolol."
Looks like a butcher's meat grinder
Once or twice a year, I clean my tripods by putting a small amount of 3 in 1 oil on a cloth and wiping the legs. Result, smooth moving legs.
This discussion was and is exceedingly informative; ergo helpful!
A wide angle lens (i.e., 70 - 24 mm) and a telephoto lens in the 500 mm to 600 mm range. A tripod and, if possible, a Wimberley gimbled head or
a ball head that allows you to pan. Consider shooting at F8 and F5.6, using the crop factor in your camera if that is possible. A cable release
would mitigate against camera movement. Use continuos focus on the birds' eyes and employ "burst shots" when beneficial, if your camera has that feature. Consider setting your white balance and ISO on automatic and shooting in aperture priority or in shutter priority with at least a 400 -600 shutter speed setting, if you are shooting action shots.
These recommendations are based upon my own recent experience when photographing snow geese and sandhill cranes at Bosque Del Apache (Woods of the Apache). In addition to bird photography, there will be stunning sun rise and set photo opportunities.
Good shot! Also, it would be interesting to see more of the stormy sky and move the house a bit off-center, creating a different mood effect
I would appreciate any advice regarding the purchase of a "quality" monopod.
In other words, a monopod that could accommodate a Nikon D5 with a Nikon
200 - 500 mm lens attached. Additionally, the monopod should be of quality
workmanship and usability. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and
pro/con recommendations.
The dates of the festival are March 16 - 19, 2017 in Kearny, Nebraska.
Thanks for the advice regarding the Festival program and lens recommendation.
I have not been to the festival, but I am seriously thinking about going.
I just considered it prudent to inform myself about the merits of
such a venture.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has attended this festival in the past about
what to and not to select from the various day trips and whether the $150.00 lecture/excursion/meal plan
program is essential to a successful photo shoot over a four-day period. Additionally,
I wonder what the dynamics are between birders and photographers when seeking the best vantage
point at the various viewing sites along the Platte river.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and counsel.
All my Nikon equipment is insured by Travelers against loss, theft, falling into water, on hard surfaces, etc. The coverage is active
in the U.S. and abroad. Example: when I was in Venice, I left me Nikon D4 with a 24 -to 70 mm lens on a water taxi.
Travelers replaced it without question.
Sorry, that would be "white" balance :))
Looks like tall grass in the wind and using a strange while balance setting.
Has anyone read a reliable and definitive account of the similarities and differences (pros and cons) between the Nikon 200-500 mm SWM VR ED IF lens versus the Tamron 150 - 500 full 15m, AF MF, and VC lens -- not the newest version of this Tamron lens?
Thanks in advance for responses.
