Thank you for your comments. After listening to all of the responders I tend to agree. I have to condition my mind to avoid the extremes, its not going to be easy. But comments from all of you will help. Thanks again

The processed bird in the second is good, the back ground is seems out of place in that it should be greener (the algae that is).
The seond set the processed seems to be a little over done on the contrast as shown. The last set appears to fine.
Rook2c4, was saying that you monitor might not match your computer, and how it prints out also effect the PP you have done. A lot folks use a system to calibrate the monitor to the printer. Not knowing what the actual output would be would also play part in your present PP work.

Thanks for your comments. The second set I am trying to highlight the Egrets neck hinges. I want to show how he strikes. I could not manipulate enough to totally achieve my thoughts. I am learning Lightroom will I have better controls?

Thank you for your comments. Sometimes i get these visions of the final result. I never thought of the minor differences that might show up in print. do you think the second picture is overdone? As I review after your helpful words I am torn between yes and no.
This ecletic posting is one that I will work on in Lightroom when I master the program. More complex than I imagined.
Can anyone identify the snake for me?

I have a fasination with light and color. Yesterday, I took 200 pics at a remote pond. although time of day was not optimal, I got some decent shots. I post processed some to arrive at what I thought was sexy.
Please review and critic as any information would be greatly appreciated. The first pic is natural and following is post processed.
Could someone identify the snake, it slithered about 2 feet from me.

I am starting to feel like Ansel Adams (just kidding).
Attached are some additional works, I ghope you enjoy viewing as much as I enjoyed the experience taking them.
Thanks to all of you. You brought tears to my eyes, I never thought my work would be so appreciated. There are so many great photographers out there. Thanks again I will continue to post.
The responses to my first posting gave me the insentive to share some of my works. I have a library of over 25,000 photos, all taken by me. None of my photos have ever been shown. I never had the confidence. Thank you again for bringing me out of the shadows. All photos taken with an Olympus 620 with either a 75-300 0lympus or a Sigma 50-500 lens. Some minor processing included. I am currently learning Lightroom. I am almost ready to experiment.
