Sorry about delay in responding - have had a very heavy workload last couple of weeks.
Scotland has a lot to offer and with the Commonwealth Games on in Glasgow in August I expect the city to be pretty busy with tourists and I'm sure many of them will venture beyond the city too.
Cheers Bmac.
Thought this thread was down in the vaults, never to be seen again.

Very good shots, h2!
Cheers Guys.
Hope all's well with you two.
Has been very mild so far this year with snow only on the hills.
I have a few crocuses just popping up at the moment, Expect to see them open in another 2-3 weeks.
Hi Bob
Great selection there.
Can see why you were keen to shoot.
Snow adds to the shots.
If your camera is having trouble locking in on focus, why not turn autofocus off and fire off a few shots using manual focus.
Also, not sure if shooting with too slow a SS is costing you in sharpness.
"Ice shots" - Nice √
Lovely set √√√
Cheers all
Very good of you to take time out to comment √

I love these! I also love the idea of shooting at a single focal length, though I rarely am disciplined enough (have no prime lens) :)
Hi Linda
Using a prime is great for the old legs - your zoom controls
You can pick up a 50mm prime for a very reasonable sum, even cheaper 2nd hand.
It has the potential to give great clarity and will cover a great deal of situations (with the help of the zooming legs), is light and compact (helps keep the old back from straining too much).
After q while you'll get use to what you can tackle using a specific focal length lens.
Downside is, legs don't help in confined or dangerous situations.
At first you'll probably feel restricted if only carrying a prime, but hell, all the old school masters from way back managed just fine.
Good shooting, prime or zoom.
Cheers.
