Thank you wonkytripod. The lake is made of many minerals. In the summer the lake evaporates and crystalizes the minerals forming many white rimmed circles - shallow pools thatb reflect the mineral content of the water in shades of blues and greens.

The native people revere it as a medicine lake. Ceremonial cairns surround the lake - some of ancient vintage and stories of the physical and spiritual healing properties derived from its unique 365 circular pools have been told by native elders through the ages.

Their name for it is (Klikuk) loosely translated means "The Lake of Wellness)

During world war 2 the Chinese Laboures were employed skimming the salts from the surface of the lake. It was then shipped to Eastern American munitions factories. Said to have reached a ton per day.

It is now owned by the Federal Gov. and Okanagon Nations Alliance.

Well Annie...here goes..I don't usually comment to comments like yours but felt it may help you...yes I did use automatic mode...who cares..and yes it was a new camera to me so is photography...so I was unsure of myself...and felt safer in auto mode...the enlargements however turned out fine...now for you...forums to me are a place where we learn and teach each other with constructive criticism not destructive...I am a secure person..so..your ranting doesn't concern me but it may someone else who is really new and trying to learn from this site...as far as you saying the industry is going this way...that sounds to me that you are a very insecure person if that is all it takes to make you unsure of your talents...just saying..I like to live my life surrounded by positive and happy people...I am hoping for you that you relax enjoy the journey the destination will take care of itself...there are a lot more things in life to worry about...so please don't stress about the small things...life is too short and beautiful to be that uptight...have a great day and happy shooting...
