I have studied through his free courses. I learned a little. I also enrolled in the NYIP. I learned more in the first unit than I did in any of his courses. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. Good Luck!

If the teleconverter says MC it should be for an old manolta, looks just like the one I,m holding. Can you adjust the aperture. on the Sigma

Look back on the photo's......on the second photo, there is a set of number's on the bottom.(A 22 16 11 8 5.6 3.5)There is a very small button that allows that ring to turn. The third photo shows another set of numbers in the center of the lens. 1st row of #s....ft 50 30 15 10 8 7 6 macro 1:5 1:4 1:3.3. The row just underneath has m (sideway's 8?) 20 10 6 4 3 2.5 2 1.7 1.5 1.3 1.2 1.1 1 .Then you have the #s with the lines to line up with. So do you use those to aperture? Don't know much about it at all.The lens is very clear no dust or fungus. It is actually in very good condition.

Sanchiez, the use of adapters and legacy manual lenses is for 3 kind of people:
1-Those who own the lens and want to carry them over to a different mount.
2-Those who can not afford other type, newer lenses.
3-Those who can afford new lenses or own them but want to experiment with legacy lenses.

Not gonna try any new stunts with adapter kits! I am gonna stick to what has worked for me. Buying this len's was a fluke anyway. Like I said earlier my husband is still laughing at me. I am gonna do a little more research, find out what it's worth and sell the thing if it's possible. Oh, and pray I don't lose money selling.

With the adapter photogator gave you the link to, it will work with limitations. Remember, you are starting out with a lower quality lens, adding another glass element of questionable quality, and it won't be fully functioning. Not worth the effort in my opinion.

I agree.....

Are you sure about using it alone or with the tele-converter, instead of an Auto Focus Confirm mount adapter?

I have a Nikon D3100 so I can't use it at all.

"PK-A/R" indicates a Pentax/Ricoh compatible mount (see the discussion under "Warnings" at http://www.robertstech.com/compat.htm ).

that is the description for the vivitar tele converter. The lens itself can be used alone.

I see you are in Alabama. Ace Camera in Mobile used to be a good shop. There was a Wolf Camera in Birmingham last time I was there too. I don't know if you are near either of those cities though.

I am about 45 minutes from Trussville AL which is on the outskirts of Birmingham. There is a wolf shop there. Mobile is way to far.

Wolf might be a good place... if you can find employees older than the lens.
Have you a camera repair shop in town?

None that I know of.

It looks similar to the Pentax K mount, but the lugs look shorter, more like the Olympus OM mount. Sigma has always made lenses to fit all the major camera manufacturers so its really hard to tell without a body to try to mount it on.
Here is a website I sometimes use to ID lens mounts in the store.

Thank you for the website. Non of those looked exactly the same. It's hard to tell.

Very different mount.
Nikons have a deep lens flange to film plane distance.
You see Canon shooters with Nikon lenses ( with adapters) because they don't need an optical element to focus to infinity. Not so the other way around.

maybe I can find somebody that needs it. We have a Wolf camera shop nearby, maybe I will take it there and get more info on it.
