I bought this lens for my main carry around lens. Though im still looking for that 18-300. This 55-200 is of course new to me,is there any thing I need to know about any quirks it may have, if it has any at all. thanks . Kevin

Photophly, thank you for responding. To your question I would have to say mostly the landscape of Alaska. Fishing out of Homer(the end of the road) for halibut to fly fishing alot of streams and rivers, then a guided fly in to a remote spot in the bush.. so hopefully a lot of photos of fish, and I hope a few bear and moose...kevin

Hi Harvey, I lived in fairfield Wa for 25 yrs,I know the st. joe area like the back of my hand. I usually go to the red ives area,or beaver creek then up and over to the clearwater drainage... I agree it is a wonderful area but it has been found, and the Idaho politics have been very weird. The silver valley is now a corridor for the Spokane,Couer d'alene area..Lots of people.. But I agree it is beautiful ... Kevin

First time writing for somber advise, been a long time reader of this forum.. My question is lens for a trip to Alaska this summer. Im shooting a d300 .A sigma 70-300mm. 1.4-5.6 APO which seems to creep at 300. Also a nikkor 16-85mm 1.35-5.6 wide angle tele photo..do you folks think I need to find another lens? thank you for any help you guys and gals can give me.
