That 3d effect is what I kind of liked about that shot also. What makes that effect is that although the sun is missing I'm shooting into it and back lighting the subjects.

Sasamat lake. It is a lake outside of Vancouver close to the Village of Belcarra Bay. Very busy place in the summer months.

Every year we (Vancouver) have the "Celebration of Light" with different countries competing for first place. The crowds are horrendous and after the show it's a major effort to leave the downtown core and then you have to get home.
This year I decided to make a night of it on the beach opposite the show and have a nice dinner on the beach with my wife and try my hand at a few shots. This first contestant was the USA.

Just returned from an outstanding trip to Alaska. I'm just beginning to process my approximately 1200 shots so I will put them up as I do them.

I put the website address for the slough on the first picture. it describes in detail the history and story of the area that is located at the bottom of #4 road in Richmond. I couldn't nearly do as good as job. Glad you all liked the pics.

I haven't posted lately as I've been very busy at work and have not been able to do much shooting. I did however venture out with a friend of mine last week to a place I've always been meaning to go, its call Finn Slough. It is like going back in time. I will return when spring hits and take some more shots but for now you get this shot of one of the buildings and I'll leave you the website address for some interesting reading.
