No the Safe Converter goes onto the hotshoe of my D5100 and the PC cord runs from the Safe Converter to the to the flash power pack
Thanks for all your replies.. I think I've narrowed it down to the safe converter. I checked the PC cord by hooking it up to my F4; the flash fired perfectly. I then tried the safe converter on the F4; no flash. I checked my settings on my camera and it fired my SB800, no problem. I then tried the safe converter again ; no flash when I depressed the shutter, it only flashed when I hit the battery test button on the convertor.
I tried hooking up my D5100 to my Speedotron D1604 flash setup using a Safe Converter hotshoe adapter. The flash does not fire when I press the shutter. It does fire when I use the batter test button. Have I set something wrong in my camera?
I have a Speedotron setup that I use with my F4. Now that I've gone digital, how can I use it with my D5100? One of my big concerns is the strobe powerpack burning out my camera.
