We have walked on the lava beds when they were still warm enough to feel the warmth through your boots! Awesome feeling.

Nature at her finest I must say.

Wow! Mother Nature at one of her most powerful moments. Great images!

Thanks. I'm pretty new to using the manual setting on my Canon EOS 70D. I was pleased with my first effort since I probably won't get back to the flows again.

[quote=Bill_de]That is quite a sight! Could you feel the heat?

We sure could. The boat captain got us within 30 feet of the flow. The water temperature was about 130 degrees over the side of the boat. Thanks for viewing my post.

I got to experience an "up close and awesome" view of the lava flow on the big island of Hawaii. Enjoy!

What setting should I use for taking pictures of Luminarias (candles in bags). I am going to a huge display at our local botanical gardens. Wide angle lens? I am shooting with a Canon D70. All shots will be after dark. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hmm. Guess you didn't consider its intended usage prior to purchase. End of story.

Actually, I did. I just wanted some advice from fellow photographers to see what they, not you, might say.
