This is my self portrait...let me know what you think.

Wonderful for working in confined spaces, all you need know is a little lamp on your little finger and you'd make a great mechanic. Great photograph - love it

How did you get the reds to be so vibrant. Fine old vehicles expertly photographed .

Good day to all. This is my first post (with pictures) on this site. My camera is a Nikon D7000 The pictures of the 3 grandkids are with the nikkor 50-300mm lens. It is strange that several of these pictures look exactly the same on 3 different monitors, but the one of my oldest (and future photographer) grand daughter looks a bit darker. It was fun t rying to capture "Mini-Penny" on the move. Please feel free to critize. I can take it and want to improve.

Question: On the first photograph, I am intrigued, did you make the photograph in black and white and add the color onto the stones afterwards. It looks very technical to me but I love the effect it produces!

The quality and brilliance of your photographs is always apparent but in this case is excellent. I tried to do some glassware photographs of glass measures and thermometers. All I got was grey photographs full of reflections, a total loss as far as I am concerned!

Good job and keep posting stuff like this as an inspiration to others.

As your agent, Ian remarked, if you want to be popular buy squirrel food and lots of bird see and invite the deer over for lunch!

Thanks Jim! Glad you like them.
As you can see though, reflections and wonky shadows WERE a problem for me, especially early on. I kinda liked some of them though... and kept the shots but for professional product photography those would be trashed straight-away. I don't have the equipment or dedicated space required to do it right... but I'm having fun trying to work around that.

The last two of the set I'm especially proud of though... they come closest to my vision. (and yes, I am aware that they are slightly askew, too... straightening just seemed too predictable and for me, lost some visual interest. What do you think?)

I was under the opinion that they can actually shoot those spines at enemy's so a long lens would be an advantage.

Nice photo.

I wasn't going to post these, as they aren't a genre that appeals to too many folks on this forum and I'm not too particularly fond of displaying my growing pains... but I'm doing as told *snickers*

So if you object to the following... take it up with Ian (Hargraves)
hahaha!

What a shame someone felled that tree and did not harvest the timber!

Love the color and texture of the lichen

A great concept, simple and clean and I think the parchmenty color of the bible is perfect for the subject!

Since using my 105mm macro lens I am amaqzed at the colour and texture of nature. Please give comments on how to improve everything is welcome.

Love the photos but would like a little bit more light in the inside of the lily. Focus stacking looks too complex but you did a good job if it does what I think it does.

Some would say there is too much noise from friendly banter put out by the respondants. IMHO I like it, seems to be a welcome light in the dark night!
