At the last update both versions of Lightroom got an enhanced "Auto" button in the Develop/Edit sections. Before, most agreed it didn't work very well. Now it seems much better.

The description from Adobe is worth reading. "Start your edits with Auto, which uses Adobe Sensei to intelligently apply adjustments based on a photo’s light and color characteristics. Adobe's Auto feature now uses advanced machine learning to automatically apply the best edits for these slider controls in your photos: Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, Saturation, and Vibrance. In addition, the Auto feature now also includes the ability to optimize the adjustments of the photo even after cropping has been applied.

The underlying neural nets have been trained with thousands of professionally shot and manually edited photos to evaluate and correct an image, just like a skilled human photographer."


Excellent idea thanks for sharing

I've started trying it to set a starting point in Classic CC. It works better than I want to admit!

I started to wonder what would happen if I applied it to every RAW in import! It can be done. I made a preset with only the Auto box and Sharpening boxes selected. I went out and shot a dozen images and imported them with the preset applied. It worked!
