Nice captures, wish I was there.
Great captures. That Hanging Lake trail is a climb, but worth the reward.
I never knew these were cottonwood. I have seen what I thought was cottonwood from Minnesota to Texas, but what you have pictured is what we call Rose of Sharon, a genus of Hibicus in the Malvaceae family. Really like the picture, good job. You may want to look up Cottonwood.
Nice photo. I know this location well. My sister lives across the street from there. You can catch dolphin at times right where you took that picture.
Enjoyed your bio, sounds a lot like my wife and I. As for Norway, I had the pleasure of serving in the Air Force in the late 70's early 80's at Spangdahlem, Germany. One of my TDY's (Temporary Duty Assignment) I got to go on an exchange program with the Norwegian Air Force and spent 10 days in Bodo, Norway during mid June. The Sun never set the entire time we were there, and I got to see many sites above the Arctic Circle. What a beautiful country, and the people couldn't have been any nicer. It was definitely a highlight of my 20 year career in the Air Force.

This was the 1st time I have ever had one of these in my yard,
and it was kind enough to let me take several photos.
Red-Breasted Grosbeak
You rarely see them in the Piedmont Triad. I live in Summerfield just north of Greensboro and only remember seeing these beautiful birds 3 times in the past 25 years. You will see them more the closer you get to the Blue Ridge, as most birds migrate along the mountain range. Nice photo's.
Hey Brent, Liked the Holland shots. Brought back some memories. Kinderdykes was one of our favorite stops going home to Germany from a crazy weekend in Amsterdam.
Great memories! I was in the Air Force in Germany from 78-83. Once during the Winter of 1981 the lake was frozen over enough that you could walk from where the boats launch out to St Bartholoma. There was hundreds of people doing the walk that day. There and St Sebastian Church in Ramsau where my favorite places to photograph in that part of Bavaria. Nice pictures.
There is a small museum and gift shop. You can climb the lighthouse from 3rd weekend in April to Columbus Day in October. There is an $8 fee for adults, and $4 for seniors.
Golden Hour at Bodie Island Light.
My daughter lives on Madura. She works for the Peace Corp and teaches English. She really has a heart for the people there, and we see many similar pictures life and the people there.
I got one a couple weeks ago and they finally left a message with a phone number to call. I called it and it was that IRS scam going around. They were charging me with 3 felony counts of tax evasion, and threatened that I would receive 5 years in prison if I didn't pay the fines. I told them to mail me a copy for my lawyer and he would call them back once he's reviewed the documents. The guy fumbled around a bit making no sense, so I told him to F%#@ Off, and hung up. The IRS have an online form you can fill out to report the scammers, which I did. That was the end of all the calls.
Great pictures. Would love to see this air museum myself. I'm 2nd generation FAA Airframe & Powerplant Technician with 40 years in aviation, following my Pop that had 49 years.Currently working for Pratt & Whitney Engines.
Thanks for the tip. I like the idea of getting my iMac calibrated for accurate color and light, And I just looked up cgproprints.com they look to be a little bit cheaper than CanvasPop.
