Nice one CHG_
I will apply some of your suggestions to newly purchase OM-TG 7 (photography-based trip ) for snorkeling among others.
Happy New Year to you (and all)

Although it is not the full version of either since this is PSE 2022 it probably has almost everything LR6 had and in a newer version.
Just wondering, does PSE 2022 have the all powerful Catalog database ?
Cheers
I have also have the Canon 70-300mm L Len since 2012. Its been a reliable work horse. Its been everywhere,( Everest Base Camp among many other treks) What I also found is it very good in close country ( jungle trails or heavy bush) where I have a good chance of getting the little birds in bad light. Although I use my Tamon 150-600mm G2 in the open. I have use it as walk around in Cities as you can get shots that need the reach you won't with say a 24-105mm lens. I would consider the "L" if you are going in harsh conditions but even after 2 years in Central and South America I had to get it cleaned out due to some mould. Dust didn't seem a big problem although I was fussing in cleaning, its just the constant tropical humidity.
Lovely you all to reply, I might rest the decision for a bit, to take in what you all wrote and a little more research( enjoy your retirement with your wife robertjenl )
I just got the Tamron 150mm-600mm G2 lens (for Canon 5d IV) and weighing up to get maybe the Teleconverter 1.4x.I would be interested to hear what owners of the above have had with this. Any autofocus issues, happy with results especially in low light. Did you return it or it sits there in the drawer label 'why did I buy this item'.
It's a habit now and something I look forward to check out most days. There are great teacher's here, so a big tanks as well. I am away for 2 months ( in Western Australia) from tomorrow so a bit a reading upon my return.
Cool, I played with it. Thank jerryc41.
Hi tlhender,
just for infor, I used my 70mm-300mm Canon L lens, watch your ISO and jack up your shutter speed.Try to participate where they might come up. I was out on this trip last week, it is a mission to get there as you have to go out 1-2 hours out from the bay.( fairly rough seas)
The West coast of Canada would be a great choice as there is Grizzlies and Black bears viewing opportunities so research that area, it would be great trip if you could get to see them all in a few days.
Just one fire of note in the West so we didn't get hammered as the Eastern States. We are open.
Anyway just one more thing, just go and best of luck.
Hi tlhender,
come on down under to Bremmer Bay in W.A. We have the only designated tours for Orca Whales in Australia (with a 98% success rate). We have approximately 150 of them here. I was lucky enough to see about 30 of them.
I'll put an extra shrimp on the Barbecue for ya.
Thanks all,( I'm been away the last couple of days) some interesting products I will look into and different ways of backing back on the road.
Cheers
Oops, forgot quote reply. First is for Longshadow Second for Richard.
Thanks, that would be nice even if it is on the expensive side. I will probably take laptop, but its nice to see what is currently out there and see what others use.
I would take at least one portable as there might be an opportunely to use a computer along the way. However I am going to islands in eastern Indonesia for 2 months then Malaysia for 3 weeks. Its to long without a backup plan.
Apart from taking many Cards or Laptop what other portable ways I can backup images regularly. I generally do take a 11 inch laptop ( as to view, keyword and basic edits) and backup to 2 portable drives.
Of course I will have to do this when I get back but I want to explore other methods and products out there for quick nightly backups.
"Nothing is backup until the backup is backup" as my mate keeps telling me.
