First, I love family members shooting their photos. Why? I cannot be in every place that something is happening at once. What to remember is that this is the couples very special day. The more pictures the better. I have shot from just the Wedding to the Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding and Reception and over 1000 frames, easily. I charge $60 a hour, $600 a day (8 hours), I provide a CD of every shot I take, good or bad and 3 CDs of all the best that I also make color, light, cropping and red-eye reductions if any. The CDs are $50 a piece. The photos are mine as I make corrections. Once I hand off the CDs, I have no say over where the photos go or posted. I also can and do the Wedding Album after the couple reviews the CD and I know which photos they want in the album. It's THEIR day, not mine. I'm there to do a job, make people comfortable to get their picture taken and SMILE. I've seen "stuffy" pros and they do NOT get the same results as I do, making the photography of the event...Part of the Family Event. People really do like to have their picture taken.
Just wanted to get involved in general photography discussions. Been shooting pictures since the early 1980s with a Canon AE-1. Shot a couple of cousins weddings, families were impressed. 2009 stated RPM Digital Photos, LLC, doing weddings, family events, pets and oddities of lightning, solar eclipses, comets to extension tube fine jewelry and macro photography. I shoot what I see, from cloud formations, modeling, pets and practice on my 75 gallon fish tank with my 20 or so aquarium fish.
