Photography is an art form. isn't it up to the artist to decide how to interpret the idea? If you don't agree with what he or she has done, don't vote for the image. And if you don't like the format of the contest, don't enter.

I agree with Jane G. The contest are for fun. You don't win a prize, fame or fortune. Just a little self pride maybe.
If you don't like it, don't participate. Just sayin'
