I actually like the first photo more... makes it look like you're going to enter a mysterious world :)

Wow, I love horses and I love this pic! If I were you, I'd make a huge print of it and hang it on a wall everyone sees, like the dining room. Really nice! :)

Thanks for looking, Marzee. And in fact, that's exactly what I did!

Oh well done! :)

So what it comes down to is skill, not camera. ;)

Love these! I've never seen an elk in real life so must have been awesome shooting these. They seem quite peaceful too. How close can you get to these or do they scare easily?

Glad you like them, Marzee. There are some elk in NZ that were imported there from N.A. Search around the web for where they can be found. There are other animals related to elk there, too -- Red Deer. You have plenty of wildlife in NZ that will satisfy your photographic ambitions.

The elk that hang around the villages can be seen within 30 or 40 yds. but you still have to respect their comfort zone. We've been closer with much caution but not intentionally. They move about and go where they please and if they come your way, you move aside and give them room. They are wild animals and command respect. Thanks for looking. -- Gene

Thanks Gene, I will have a look, but suspect they might be far south, so will have to make a plan. Yes we do have a lot of wildlife, not as much as we had in South Africa though. :) Nevertheless, awesome work!

No, it's used in macro a lot. It has two little clamps, one on each end of a piece of plastic like the gorilla tripod plastic only the diameter is about the size of a pencil, the clamps go one on each end.
Shouldn't be hard. Two little needle nosed clamps . I just don't know where to buy them or how to attach them in the right way.
Wilmington has made plamps.

Oh.. right. Hope you get someone who can help. :-)

That is a very good question! I also think the Nikons seem to take better photos. The only reason I don't buy Nikon (yet), and I hope no-one takes offense on this comment, is that I read on an animal rescue causes blog that Nikon supports bull dog fighting... How true that is I'm not sure yet, but I'm trying to find out. However, it doesn't change the fact that I also think their DSLRs take better photos. I wonder if anyone has an answer to that. :)

Oh! A clamping tripod! Thanks for that! Sorry I can't help you with your question though! :P

Welcome to UHH RockOdin :) I am not in a position to give feedback really. All I can say is that I like the detail you got in these pics, especially capturing the rainbow. Thanks for sharing! :)
