Thank you Jerry, Richard, Don, Linda and Gitzo. I'm not positive about the ID - perhaps someone else can confirm whether it is a Glossy or White-faced Ibis. I am going by what I was told.
According to this website ONLY the white faced ibis has white eye liner??? http://people.mbi.ohio-state.edu/hurtado.10/docs/plegadis/p371.jpg

Check out this link Link didn't work . . . I'll try something else
You state it is "Download" but its not for us so closer examination is not possible. I am assuming this is an HDR to have the tree that much out of focus. IF it is an HDR, I would use the HDR image and clone in the tree from your closest exposure single image. That way hopefully your tree will be more in focus. As it stands now (hard to tell without DOWNLOAD) there is no way of getting a good print at that size.
I believe this is a white faced Ibis. In breeding plumage both sexes have a white marking around the chin and the eye. They also "try" to stay away from populated areas. They are NOW common around Calgary so it appears they are making their way northward. They are relatively new to this area, I'm guessing 15 years. Strange because the Canadian geese are making their way southward. We now have tons of Canadian geese nesting around Calgary and it makes for a real mess. Other major migration changes are the turkey vultures and the bald eagle to Manitoba. I am sure there are other changes, we just aren't aware of them.
Nice series, I envy people with those red cardinals, we don't have any here. I haven't even seen any wood ducks this year! Oh well, we do have the mountains, the bear, the cougars (so I have been told). I have never seen the "rose breasted grosbeak" live either.
Didn't realize you had quail in your part of the country. Could you possibly send a PM email of their location. My wife and I are down in Penticton for 5 days towards the end of June. I used to take quail pic at Hillier on Vancouver Island. However, we did not see them last year when we were vacationing. Oh, yes, very nice sharp image.
Nice series, love all those little guys . . . the new gang! The babysitters sure stay close to their kids, but then they are not walking on flat ground. Don't you just hate ear tags and collars.
