A better solution is to use a self-contained portable wireless router, and have that communicate to another wireless device that will receive your files.
I put one together this past weekend. I have used it with my Android phone and a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. It not only offers file transfer (which I can use but usually don't because I have a D800 and the files are huge), but it also offers full camera control, including touch focusing, focus stacking, burst shooting, etc. Check out my blog post that summarizes all of this. BTW, the router is only $35 at Amazon and lets your camera worth with your existing cards.
You can always use an OTG USB cable to connect the camera directly to a computer.
The portable router with DSLR Dashboard will also let you set up a small local area wifi network that can serve multiple devices for file transfer, BTW. But having total control over the camera is absolutely the best part.
