Cliff, just curious, I have a D5000. Would a similar lens work for me if I use the focus manually ? Or is speed & aperature controlled by the lens motor as well..
Thanks. Billfo

Leicaflex explains perfectly.
I have been taking some classes at a comm college. BIG world of difference in my pics.. Looks for a weekend "Intro to DSLR" class usually in the adult "non credit" section or a class at a specialty camera shop.. It should teach you how to use YOUR camera. It is fun too !

I wont try to answer these questions, but I will offer this..If this is redundant informatin or if your skill level is beyond this- please excuse me..

As a new D5000 user I found that (for now) staying with Aperature priority mode for anything depth of field -or- staying with shutter priority mode for anything to show or freeze movement & using your exposure compensation should keep you busy while getting you nice pics.. After you have given that enough of "hands on" experience, you could introduce iso adjustments & see how far you can expand your results.

After all this, you could go to full manual.. It may give you a better grasp. I have not jumped to full manual yet as I am still in the exp comp & iso area.

Again, this probably only applies to newer users like myself. Just tryen to help !

I just returned from the Table Rock Lake/Berryville Ar. area yesterday 10/5 & sad to report that the trees have NOT changed colors yet. The colors really didnt pop until I drove closer to Kansas City. Around the lake, the leaves have started falling pretty good as I can tell fro the view from my deck at the lake (see pic attached). I HOPE the leaves change color fast as our daughter is getting married there next weekend 10/13. Maybe this current cold spell & the sudden rains will kick the colors out ! Hope this report helps..

They opened the new TD Ameritrade stadium last year in the north edge of downtown Omaha. Built specificly for the College World Series. Very very nice w/ lots of shops, food & bars around the new stadium.Probably a better location. It isnt the same, progress, I suppose. The old location was bought to expand the Henry Doorly Zoo.. The Zoo will have a monument at the old home plate location like a memorial. The Omaha zoo is possibly already one the best in the nation !

For you College World Series fans, Omaha's Rosenblatt stadium is being torn town. Here are two shots about 7:30am last week. Sad day for College Baseball.....

Yes, I am finding "what I think" is better clarity with the fixed... Dispite having to walk alot more to frame my shots.
