Given that this site has helped me greatly in the past, I wanted to try this question.
I've loved watches since I was a kid 70 years ago. The one I would love to own but just cannot justify $20,000 or more is a Rolex.
Lately, there have been 'SuperClones' that are so good even some jewelers can't tell them apart. However, the problem is that probably well over 90% of the sites you see on line are a scam.
Does anyone know of a site that actually will sell and ship you a super clone?
Thanks,
Ron
I recently purchased the OM-5 camera plus a kit lens. My reason for doing this was to travel as light as possible. I have owned both the M1X and the OM-1 and some OM/Olympus lenses. They were amazing cameras but just did not fit my current lifestyle, I am 76 and do not move as I once did. If I would like a lens to take with me for travel shots, what would you recommend? I would like to hear from others who use the 4/3 system before buying an extra lens.
Thanks.
Ron.
Like many here, I now have to rely on memories having lost my wife New Year’s eve 2015 to Alzheimer’s. Kind of put a damper on that ‘celebration’ for my daughters.
Now I live by these simple rules although Covid did mess with some.
1. No one promised you tomorrow
2. I have no desire to be the richest person in the graveyard
3. With luck, my last cheque to the CRA (Canada’s income tax people) will bounce
4. I now buy what I want not what I need
Without buying an expensive piece of software, is this possible? I want to take a few pictures of the apartment building I am in and merge them with clipart. As an example, I have a shot of the front entrance to the building, I would like to paste a clipart Christmas tree on either side of the front entrance. I want to put a wreath above the fireplace in the lobby. I tried doing this in Pages but had no luck. Can this be done with inexpensive software that does not take a day to learn?
I am using a Mac.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Ron
The response to my question has been amazing, not only have members made some incredible suggestions, I have learned considerably more in the process. Thanks to all who took the time to help me out. Ron
Thank you, I have never seen that lens.
Thank you for this. I hah looked into those rubber lens hoods but it looked like I would have to buy a few to cover the various lenses.
Is it worth bringing the 1.4 converter I have? And, thank you very much for your input.
Photography is my only vice so... 100-400, 8mm, 12-100, 40-150, 17mm, 45, 12-40, 300, 60mm macro, 7-14. The earlier post suggested 45-150. I think that might have been a typo, I have not seen that lens.
Later this month I get a chance to take the VIA ‘Canadian’ from Toronto Ontario to Vancouver British Columbia.
While the train does not stop for long at any particular place it does have those ‘dome’ cars allowing you to capture some of the scenery as you travel across the country. I will spend time in Vancouver and then on Vancouver island in Victoria.
I could really appreciate some advice on the lenses I should take with me. One lens people suggest is the 12-200 but I do not own that lens. I would consider buying it but stock is such that it would arrive too late for my trip.
Thanks,
Ron
Thank you, I will check out that site. When people learn I sold the M1X, I sometimes get looks that would suggest I am right out of it. I view a camera as a tool. I do not use drills, screwdrivers or wrenches that do not feel 'good in the hand' so, why should I use a camera that feels uncomfortable as well.
For some, it is terrific, it just was not great for me.

Since you have a lot of Oly glass you surely have an Oly body in addition to the new purchase. You likely have all the batteries and other accessories for that. Use it as a back up.
I had the M1X, it was just too big so I sold it. I want something I can travel with and that camera just was way too big. Before moving to Olympus, I had a number of Nikons including full frame. The M1X, for some reason, was just the most uncomfortable of all the cameras I had used.
Is this one to consider?
Olympus OM-D E-M10 II Black with 14-42 II R
Thanks, here in Canada, used these are going for $2000.
I just recently got my OM1. I have some rather impressive trips planned for later in the fall and then the Rocky Mountaineer next spring. I have a good collection of Olympus glass and so would like some suggestions for a backup body. I have no plans for a second OM1.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Ron
