I received my commercial FAA certification for remote UAS pilot, and took the opportunity to do a sunrise photoshoot of the St. Joseph, MI lighthouse last month. Drone is a DJI P4Advanced+ with 20mp camera.
It's been a busy year, and I've not had any time to even pick up my camera for months. When fall color season comes, my wife and I set aside some time to enjoy the color. On Tuesday we drove up along lake Michigan to Ludington. While there wasn't much color by us, it's really popping farther up. Here is a couple shots from our tour. One of Little Point Sable Lighthouse, and one on a back road nearby
He shed His blood to make us pure.
For whatever reason, I haven't gotten notifications of responses to this thread. Thank you all for your comments! We've had the opportunity to go to Tiger Stadium, Boca Grande Beach, The famous Arcadia Rodeo, Airboat ride, Bald Eagle nests, and more. All have been great photography subjects. I'll post some of the photos as time permits. Our time down here will be ending soon, but we look forward to coming back next year to again enjoy the snowbird life!
While wintering here in Florida, I found this eagles' nest near Punta Gorda. The adults would not go near the nest while I was taking photos. They were busy flying over me keeping an eye out. The eaglets are about the size of the adults, and are ready to leave the nest soon.
This is my first winter to become an official snow bird, and we'll be heading to Florida after Christmas. I'm sure this probably gets asked every year, but I was wondering where the rest of the UHH snow birds will be in Florida. I'll be in Arcadia at the Big Tree Rv resort. It will be a challenge trying to take "winter" photos with palm trees in the background!
A friend of mine got 140,000 clicks before he wore out the shutter mechanism on his D3300. That's a lot of photos. He didn't feel cheated when it broke; he said it served him well.
Could you elaborate? I know this was said about the Pokémon craze; people running all over the country "recording?" geographical locations in search of objects. Could be truth to that, but by what process would the spying be done with the drone? On mine, my photos and videos are not downloaded to my app. I remove the sd card and upload directly to my pc for post processing. Also, I use an unregistered (no cell service) smart phone for the DJI app only. I love spy thrillers, so let's work this one!
Thank you for your critiques. Much appreciated!

Very nice compositions. I like how you incorporated the rule of thirds into the photos. Number three is my favorite. The beach adds foreground interest.
Thank you. Lucky you! It's a great place to go to.

Nice set. I enjoy seeing the aerial viewpoint, as that is less common. The lighthouse is 10 minutes from home for me and a place I go to often, camera in hand.
Thanks! Yes, the 1st photo was taken with my drone.
