Since I bought my canon 50mm 1.8 lens, I have tried several setting with my built in flash but always go back to my original 'register user setting' 250/5.6 ISO. 250.
Raw, one shot.
It takes the Exposure Level indicator well off to the left yet nearly always does the trick, not found a better setting (try it)

Does anybody else have a favourite built in flash setting?

Regards
Eddie

ps. Any one know this 'Eternal model number?

I started using it for close macro on my 40D. The x10 was invaluable when using f16 or above. The DOF was is so small, I found moving camera back and forth much easier than minute focusing.

An interesting fact: June 21st (tropical time) is not the longest day. It simply has the most hours of sunlight. All tropical days have 24 hours.

The longest day is December 23rd Solar time. This has 24hours, 29 minutes. A solar day is the time difference between two consecutive noon's. :)

Today I had my two grandsons with me. It was a beautiful long Sunny day..

Japanese for fuzziness:

THE QUALITY OF THE OUT OF FOCUS PART OF YOUR PHOTOGRAPH.

That's how I see it!

I remember reading Bokeh was: The quality of the out of focus part of the photograph? A Japanese word meaning fuzzy?
Mind you a week ago I spoke to a pro of over 30 years and he had never heard of 'Bokeh' I have to say I find it interesting.

Most times the histogram looks ok! but the one thing that I 'always' adjust is the colour cast (I have a Canon 40D)
There are few DSLR which do not have 'Colour Cast'

9/10 The photo needs some adjustment and it really does improve the photo..I use P/shop CS5.

Sunny 16: These are all for a bright sunny day.

Ap f/16. ISO 100. S/S 100. (to match ISO) If you change one you must change any other(s) to match.

Exp:Ap f/8. ISO 100. S/S 400. or f/8 ISO 50. S/S 200.

Ap f/22. ISO 200. S/S 100. or f/22 ISO 100 S/S 50

Only change is really is the D.O.F. hope this makes sense!

My grandson Jack (age 9) was back to school on Monday after a week off. His hols project for a school photo competision was a local wildlife photo.

Just 100 yards from home is a stream with ducks.. With my canon 40d and a sigma 18-200mm lens we took about 30 photo's.

A bit of photoshop, we came up with the attachment which will be judged at school tomorrow.

Yes I helped but Jack had a lot of imput. You can't start them too soon!!

I bought the 50mm 1.8 three years ago. The UK prices are so much more than the USA prices. If I remember the 1.8 was about a third of the 1.4.

It may be plastic but a great lens for the price. I am delighted with all the results.

Happy New Year!!
