Did you ever find a trade for your nikon d3100? I still might be interested in trading my canon sx-40 for it. Again, it is only a few months old.

I am interested.Could you post pictures of the camera? Also, are the lenses VR lenses?

I have a Canon sx-40 that is just a few months old. What exactly does your Nikon D3100 consist of? I might be interested. Also, why are you wanting to trade it?

First time out with my Canon SX40 and ran up on this guy. Zoomed in from about 15' away. Any critiques or suggestions would be appreciated.

I recently bought a Canon SX40 camera. Is the built in flash on the camera adequate or would a flash mounted to the hotshoe provide better results? If so, would it have to be a Canon brand flash unit or would other brands work just as well? I saw a Quantray flash for Canon at Wolf Camera the other day at 50% off. I read in the SX40 manual that a flash unit other than Canon brand could damage the camera. Is this true or just a marketing tactic? Answers will be greatly appreciated.

Such good information here on UHH. I read a post earlier this morning about the SX40 being on clearance at Target for $215. Went to my local Target and they had 2 left. I have been watching the price on this camera for quite some time, so I thought I had better get it before they were all out. Charging the battery now, (sure takes a while when you have to wait on it). Can't wait to try it out this weekend. Have read alot of posts about how good this camera is. I hope I am up to the challenge.

I just came across a Pentax X-5 bridge camera on their website. Does anyone know how it compares to the Canon SX-40? It listed for $279.

I was in a Sam's Club a couple of weeks ago and noticed the Canon SX40 camera was priced at $354. Today I was in the same one and noticed it was now at $319. This was not marked as clearance but at the new regular price. Does anyone think it will continue to go down in price and why the price reduction in the first place? (Not that I'm complaining, I sure would like to see it under $300!)

I just bought a Fuji Finepix S3280 camera on clearance for less than $100. It takes SD memory card which I happened to have one. It is from Ritz Camera and is a 2GB multi-use memory card. It seems to take longer to write the photo to the card and be ready to take the next one. Are there SD cards available that may make this faster without costing an arm and a leg? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
