I'm starting to take photos for graduates, families, etc. and uncertain about how much to charge. I've gathered some information and kind of have an idea, but I would be interested in hearing from the group. Do you charge by the hours, does it depend on # of locations or # of dressing changes, etc. Please advise and thank you.

70-200 for nature and sports. Flash for portraits.

A new "used" nikon D800E. Interested in external flashes. Not really familiar with NIKON period as my back up is an Olympus. Could someone give me some models to look for that would work. I would want it to be remote. Thank you.

I've recently acquired a used Nikon D800E. I don't have many lenses for it yet as my back up is an Olympus. My husband was asking me the other day if I could have a 2.8 70-200 or a 4.5 55-300, which would I want. I had to think about it for a minute. I thought it would be the 55-300 for more versatility. Granted it was NOT a 2.8 but the ISO range on the camera body itself is supposed to be pretty good. What are your thoughts? Thank you

Does anyone have any thoughts on DVD burning programs and had good success as far as quality? I use PSG (Pro show gold) and the program is great for building the slideshow, but terrible when it comes to burning the DVD. Thanks.

No I totally agree with you, it is what is behind the camera that makes a difference. I just feel for additional education and trying to gain more experience, there isn't a lot of resources available for Olympus users. I love my 2.8 lens 12-60 and I could use it all the time. My shutter just seems a little slower than the canon, nikon counterparts. I sometimes feel I may be missing some things with my Olympus that the Nikon and/or Canon excels at. I may when all is done, just upgrade on my lens and keep my Olympus. I'm not sure what I would upgrade too though. I'd love an all around lens wide angle up to telephoto. Maybe 12-300 - do they make that, I don't think so.

12-60 2.8 and 200 (2.8) for telephoto. My 12-60 is great and I love it. My telephoto just OK. I also have a macro which I seldom use and of course my kit lenses that I've kind of stowed away with the other lenses mentioned above.

I presently use an olympus Evolt 620 and am thinking about switching out to Nikon or Canon. I'm not terribly unhappy with my Olympus, I just think I can do better with some of the other models and features. My question, if you could have any camera under the Canon or Nikon line which one would you want if you could and why. I'm trying to feel everyone out to help me make a better decision. Thanks in advance for your help. (oh yeah, money is an obstacle, under 1200 for body if possible) thanks :)

I have a FL50R flash, relatively new to me, purchased used. In relatively good condition. I have an E620 camera body. I feel pretty clueless to flash photography. The manuals are less than helpful. Is there anyone that can help with the basics, settings, etc. We can email privately if needed. Thank you in advance for your help.

I've been trying to wrap my head around the concept of "back focusing" which is the use of this button. From what I understand thus far since it is located on the back of the camera, it has a little easier access and may prove more useful. The shutter button pressed 1/2 way down is essentally the same (or not) to zero it on your exposure and then recompose your shot. If one were to use the AEL/AFL button do you need to go into your menu settings and change a specific feature to use it? I am also into sports photography some (seasonally) and wonder if this feature would help add more sharpness to some photos because you lock your exposure in a little better. I don't know, I feel I am rambling. I guess, bottom line do you use it or don't you use it. Does the shutter do pretty much the same thing. Thanks in advance for your help and interpretation of this.
