There is always a room for improvement in every system.
In the States, the one can have a treatment or surgery in a matter of days, while in Canada, we sometimes have to wait months if not years before being submitted to it. It creates this paradox that some Canadian patients becoming desperate and seek treatment in the USA.
Also, in our dear country, doctors are lobbying the emergence of the highly qualified specialists from abroad (competition!), thus creating the employment vacuum in the Medicare system: Canada needs 3 times more medical specialists!
Nevertheless, it's still working, just needs an improvement. We have to raise our voices!

Yess and no. We do indeed pay higher taxes, however, during the year, I can go see the doctor many times (if needed). No cost. This can be beneficial in detecting many maladies early and thus treating them early before serious illness occurs. No cost. If drugs are needed, they are dirt cheap.
Although it was not before, we now see that the affordable care act is pretty popular now. Having a seriously ill sibling, parent etc no longer means you have to mortgage the house and us up all your savings. That should NEVRER occur...so yes I am happy to live in Canada for that very reason.

The is so much movement in your picture! I can feel how the light travels through it in different directions, bringing different shades of "mood" with every turn... The one can imagine many motifs out of viewing it.

Thank you!

Myth: electric car well-to-wheel emissions are larger than gas car well-to-wheel emissions.

Short answer: Electric car well-to-wheel emissions are far, far less than gasmobile well-to-wheel emissions.

New technology always makes lots of people uncomfortable. It’s just a part of human nature to fear the unknown. That’s the way it was with radios, telephones, and air travel before we got used to those newfangled things.

Unfortunately, there are always some people who spread false information about new technology, especially if it threatens to interrupt their source of income. That’s precisely what is happening with the electric car revolution right now. The people who have become wealthy selling cars and the fuels that make them go are petrified that electric cars are going to deprive them of the enormous profits they are used to, so they manufacture falsehoods designed to scare people away from considering purchasing one.

I think it's generally very true what you are saying. I am always fascinated by endless innovations humans create!
It's just so unfortunate that the new technology always cost dozens times more that conventional things. The whole burden of trials and losses lays down on consumer's shoulders.
Also: doesn't the production of the e.v. battery and its disposal involve some significant resources, both financial and natural?

Thank you for posting it, Jerry.

The history of humanity knows so many examples of civilizations which had been destroyed by their own efforts...

Why you shouldn't try Gimp? It's an "open source" program, it's completely free and it does virtually everything the Adobe Lightroom does. Perhaps some experts would argue with me, but the one I can say, that the Gimp is a sophisticated enough program, for being a free one!

Really ??? "Fume" when it is actually "Fumfie"

Real hard to find information on a site when the provided information is wrong.

And a link is the complete link: http://www.fumfie.com
not "fumfie.com"

Remember - you are asking for help - at least provide the correct information and links to make it easier for us to help.

Even a child nowadays knows that typing just "fumfie.com" would bring you to the site. All "http"s and "www"s are just extras. Try and see it for yourself.

it is easier to make a good color Photograph than a good black & white Photograph

Nether color nor black & white Photography need to be defended. Their are those who feel differently. Color is not an addition but black & white is a removal. Removing color information changes but does not destroy the intent of a Photograph. In the past black & white was a necessity. Today, it is an alternative.

Wonderful description!
I would only like to add to it, that, according to the scientists, humans' ability of perception of an image works much greater in the B/W area than in the colour one.

I used to have a Bank of America card and a Chase card. I paid them off and cut them up. I love them paying postage on advertising and then I send them their paperwork back in the pre-paid envelope. Sometimes I put in other credit card company advertisement in with theirs.

Hi, Turtlepond!
I personally think that your picture is great!
Why not to approach form the artistic/improvisational point of view? Look at some pictures of an old masters, Rembrandt e.g.: Some people's faces are in the light, some in shade - and all this adds to the composition and the expression of the image.
The faces on tour photograph are ALL different, live, full of expressiveness and characters. They are all different, and that, in my humble opinion, makes them unique. More than that: they ALL are recognizable! Even the person who's holding the palm of his hand as a visor.
Who wants the uniformity in the group photo? Isn't there enough of this already, which makes us all as similar as nuts and bolts in the machine called "society"?
I like your photograph and would be honoured if my face was included into it.
Well, this is just my humble opinion...
