I bought my husband kokin filters but discovered that he has nevre used them. Between DSLR cameras and photoshoping programs all these effects can be created after the photo is taken. It was luckily not too much money wasted as I bought them on ebay for not a lot.

Thanks Charlie. Is it wise to buy second hand photopgraphy gear on ebay? I get a lot of new stuff that way but never feel confident to buy second hand. Your thought are appreciated.

Thanks Kimbee. None of the photo's were photoshopped either - in fact, I'm still making up my mind which one to get. I've tried a couple of free photo editing programs - any suggestions?

Interesting website sinatraman - thanks for the tip. Do you know if they will send to Australia and still honour the warrantee? What do you mean by rated bgn or ug? (I did say I was new to this field so sorry if my questions seem basic.) Thanks again for your help.

Hi Everyone,

My husband gave me a Sony Alpha 35 DSLR camera recently with the basic 18-55 lens and an extra 55-200 lens. I love trying to photograph flora, wildlife (large and small), candid shots of people and sunsets (I'm not up early enough for sunrises!). I'm looking at extending my lens collection but the Sony lenses (macro and bigger zooms) are pretty expensive. Does anyone have any advice on cheaper brands that are compatable with my camera (and hopefully with the autofocus electronics too etc) without loosing too much picture quality?
Your advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
