I have filters for my speedlights, monolights and for fixed light sources.

For the speedlites and monolights, I can filter the flash to match the ambient lighting, or a CTO to warm a portrait subject in daylight. I use half magenta gel strips on undercabinet flourescent kitchen lighting to eradicate the green cast in daylight or incandescent interiors.

Yes, raw allows for white balance adjusting, but not easy adjustment of different temperature sources in one photo. Much faster and easier to do it in camera.

Thanks for the input. I always get great answers at this forum.

With all the control we have shooting in raw, does anyone still use color filters. If so, what are the advantages? I know our pictures shouldn't need much if any post processing. Does that include white balance adjustments?

I am shooting with a Canon 7D with a 580 EX II and two 430 EX II speedlights. Short of Pocket Wizard what would you recommend?

I have the canon 7d and a 300mm f/4 L lens. Should I add the canon 1.4 extender?

I love all the interpretations.. Now I guess I'm going to have to spend at least a much time with CS5 as I do behind the camera. So much to do with such little time.

These cranes are on protected land. It's very limited access. A few county roads, which you can't wander off. I would love to get out in a blind to compose the shot better. I have a few more I'll post. I'm slow when it comes to post processing. Thanks again for the critique. I've learned alot on this site.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I am fairly new to this site. I will try to post the original. Do I have to start a new thread?
