No, the grip does not house batteries. It screws onto the bottom plate of the camera and then extends up to the grip to make it larger & easier to hold securely with one hand. You can easily take it on & off. Go to Amazon and enter "Fuji XT-3 grip" to see a picture. Off the subject a little, where are you located in Arkansas? As a kid, I spent a lot of summers visiting both sets of grandparents in Paragould.

I don't have pictures, but I have never used the lens. It is in absolutely mint, like new condition. I mounted it on my XT-3 right after I bought it and then put it right back in the box, where it has been ever since. It is in the original box along with everything that it came with. As for the warranty, I bought the lens over a year ago, so it is no longer in effect.
